Roc360 is a financial services and asset management platform for residential property investors in the United States. The firm connects fragmented loan markets with institutional capital through a branchless network of third-party originators, brokers, and in-house sales teams to originate loans to property investors who buy, rehab, resell, and/or rent properties. The firm originates and services multiple business-purpose loan products ("BPLs"), via various sales channels which, together with ancillary service offerings, provide an end-to-end experience that drives repeat customer transactions and profitability. The firm's loan products include residential transitional bridge loans ("RTLs") (including single and multi-family properties) and Rental Loans (including single property rentals and rental portfolios).

The firm's founders have worked together for over 20 years and most of its senior management team has also enjoyed a long tenure at the firm. Through its proprietary technology-enabled Third-Party Originator and Direct-to-Borrower lending channels and strong brand recognition, the firm has funded over $10bn in loans since its inception. POSITION We are seeking a Junior Attorney located in the NYC area to join our growing and fast-paced real estate legal department. The Junior Attorney will work alongside Roc360's Real Estate Counsel on closing and special servicing related matters. On a day-to-day basis, the Junior Attorney will be responsible for overseeing, reviewing, and making decisions on real estate closings, as well as assist in the oversight of the asset management, loan workout and special servicing department. The Junior Attorney will gain experience on matters located across all states, nationwide, and will work closely with outside counsel as it pertains to real estate closing transactions, foreclosure and asset disposition workout matters and some litigation. The Junior Attorney must possess exemplary attention to detail, be self-motived, have strong organizational skills and have the ability to make decisions independently, while managing risk and ensuring the quality and compliance with company and investor/buyer guidelines and standards is being met. Responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside Roc360's Real Estate Counsel and Head of Closings and Special Servicing on all matters related to real estate-legal department within the firm.
  • Overseeing and working with outside counsel on a high volume of daily loan closings.
  • Making risk assessments as it pertains to loan closings while ensuring matters are compliant with Roc360's investor guidelines.
  • Collaborating with Roc360's closing and credit team to ensure investor guidelines are being met, risk is being managed, files are moving through the process efficiently and the best possible customer experience is being conveyed.
  • Overseeing and working with outside counsel on matters related to special servicing, including but not limited to, foreclosures, loan workout negotiation, title claims and loan-level litigation.
  • Working alongside the broader real estate department and managing others' functions.
  • Understand and appreciate the needs of clients, loan buyers, and capital providers and work collaboratively with the firm's various other teams and departments. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
    • In-person NYC candidates only (potential for hybrid work).
    • J.D. degree required; NY bar admittance received or in process.
    • Real estate legal experience preferred, but not mandatory.
    • A strong interest in real estate and finance.
    • Demonstrated familiarity and experience with a real estate transaction is preferred.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft products, including Word and Excel.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong time-management, organizational and execution skills.
    • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and desire to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
    • Team-oriented and highly collaborative personality.
    • Client satisfaction-oriented personality and demeanor.
