Job Description:
Prime Sales Origination focuses on identifying and developing
clients to build our cash and synthetic prime finance platform. The
role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with hedge
funds in North America. Candidates must understand equity
financing, documentation, and credit risk management. They must
have strong client relationships which they can leverage at Citi to
develop new prime brokerage business.We are looking for a Managing
Director level candidate to identify, solicit, and originate new
profitable Prime client relationships amongst both current hedge
funds and new launches and drive material revenue and market share
growth from existing Prime clients across both Financing and
Clearing revenue channels. The candidate is expected to collaborate
with the broader equities and markets franchise and global prime
partners for meeting the client's needs and expanding the
relationships and also be responsible for cross-selling within the
Citi Equities and broader Markets franchise. The candidate will act
as a leader among the Global Prime Origination Sales team and
Equities Division in building relationships with external service
providers. The candidate will develop client pitches, organize team
coverage, and individual client sales strategy. The candidate
should have deep client relationships that he/she can leverage in
order to grow Citi Prime business as well as strong product
knowledge. The candidate will also have a keen sense of resources
available to deploy for clients and ensure monetization of resource
delivery in line with targets.Key Responsibilities:
- Work with hedge fund clients, prospects, and institutional
investors to originate new PB business and meet the clients'
needs.
- Organize and attend events, meetings, and conference
calls.
- Develop client coverage plans and budget targets for balance
and drive execution of business strategy; collaborate with the
broader equities franchise.
- Coordinate with global Origination teams to deliver best in
class service to the client base.
- Collaborate within the Citi Equities franchise on marketing
presentations for key clients and hedge fund prospects.
- Work with and build relationships with external service
providers.
- Collaborate with the product team; the broader equities
franchise; broader markets to deliver best in class coverage for
our clients and grow our footprint.
- Mentor and lead junior members of the team as
appropriate.Knowledge/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 15 years of prior financial services work
experience.
- Prior Prime Brokerage Sales experience and strong prime product
understanding.
- Strong client relationships, in particular with hedge funds
deploying long/short equity strategies.
- Know and worked with 25+ institutional investors. Demonstrate
origination track record.
- Strong understanding of the resourcing requirements for Prime
Services success and proven track record of successful internal
advocacy to meet client resource requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong interest in financial markets and the people and firms
that drive them.
- A willingness and ability to work within a strong
